The Demonization of Opioids

A recent statistic about opioid use has been hitting the headlines. The propaganda being pushed into weak minded Americans is that Americans are more likely to die from an opioid overdose than a car accident. The fact that the number of opioid overdoses resulting in death has surpassed those from car accidents does not mean that any American is more likely to die from an overdose.

First of all the statistics being compared to one another is like comparing apples to oranges. One simple reason; Statistics of auto related deaths are based on the amount of licensed or registered drivers, most of which are American citizens. The statistics of overdoses doesn’t follow the same criteria for any practical baseline comparisons. I can agree that there were more deaths from opioid overdoses than car accidents, but that absolutely doesn’t mean that Americans are more likely to die. This is pure propaganda. There is a problem with rampant over use of opioids, but fear mongering is not the way to address the problem. In addition, it is a huge mistake for illegal use and legal use to be lumped together in the same category.

There are huge numbers of Americans that benefit greatly from small doses of narcotic medications, and can use them for decades responsibly with very few adverse medical complications from them. In fact, eastern cultures have been using unrefined narcotics to treat chronic pain for thousands of years, with patients commonly living into their eighties, even after many decades of use.

Overdose statistics are gathered from hospital and law enforcement statistics, which don’t specify whether the person that died was a citizen or not. Therefore to compare and accuse all Americans of being susceptible to meet that fate is extremely disingenuous. These statistics are not even gathered from a baseline of people that are prescribed opioids, or even estimated users of opioids, legal or illegal. The fact that the statistic is out there is alarming, but probably can me more accurately attributed to an increase in illegal contraband flowing across our southern border along with the massive increase in illegal immigrants that more likely responsible for the sudden rise in overdoses than anything else.

Flawed USA Immigration Policies

I have my own personal “tale of woe” to tell about how our nation’s flawed immigration policies have negatively impacted my life. I want people to really understand the mentality of most of these migrants from a personal interaction perspective. I spent the better part of my life working in construction, side by side with migrants from all different countries; I can tell you first hand some facts that may elude most folks.

Most of the immigrants that I encountered were here illegally. People need to understand that for the most part, these immigrants come from extreme poverty. Yes! Extreme poverty! The American ghetto looks like paradise compared to this kind of poverty. In most of these Central American countries, for a few pesos one can buy a live chicken and some dried beans or rice, enough for the one or two main meals during the week. These people come from countries where the law is taken into one’s own hands for the most part. The police are mostly pawns for the drug and other illicit trades. Sexual assaults, muggings, robbery, murders, drug overdoses, and homelessness, are simply the normal way of life and a direct result of the dysfunction of how these Dictatorship governed countries operate.

Now back to my original point – when I worked on job sites and had conversations with those who knew enough English, they came here and worked, with the sole intention to bring the rest of their family here. As much of their paycheck as possible was sent back home to be saved up to be able to pay the coyotes to bring their family here. As more and more of these migrants entered the construction field, the price paid out for jobs dropped. As a drywall subcontractor, paid by the square foot, and making decent money, in just a few years, it became impossible for me to afford to have a new vehicle and a mortgage payment. The main companies that I subcontracted work from figured out that it was way more profitable to bring in illegal workers, house them, train them with the skills necessary, in house and pay them less than half of what it cost the company to sub out the jobs. These immigrants came from such poor conditions that to be crammed eight or so people into a small apartment and getting a paycheck of any kind was like a gift from God to them. I have to laugh out loud, when these politicians make general comparison of economic strife of these immigrants to our way of life here in America, and use these skewed guidelines to form the concepts of immigration laws.

This is a story that millions of American workers could tell, if anyone ever had the wherewithal to research it. Every single subcontractor that I was associated with experienced this, and this was back in the early nineties. I can only imagine what has become of the industry now. All this type of labor is probably being done now by first generation immigrants. I guess that’s what President Obama meant when he and other Democrats said “they are doing jobs no Americans want to do”.  What they mean is the jobs that no Americans can afford to do anymore. Fortunately, for myself I was able, with some continued education, a sharp wit, a few lucky breaks, and hard work to change careers. May of my colleagues lost all they had worked for years to accomplish. That is the true immigration crisis in America, not the bleeding heart propaganda about how hard it has been for these people that struggle to reach our border.

On the Matter of a Manufactured Crisis at the Southern Border

On what most on the left considered short notice, President Trump gave a public address to the nation to explain his concerns for the security and well being for the American people with regard to the situation on our southern border.

The disturbing thing was not what was said in the address, but the response from the leaders of the Democratic party, particularly the comments made by Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. Immediately following the President’s remarks, they issued their rebuttal. Their claims were that the crisis on the southern border is all a manufactured crisis by the President. The complicit media then set out with the usual propaganda campaign, literally repeating the hypocritical statements from Pelosi and Schumer word for word.

The Democrats are accurate in their analysis that it is a manufactured crisis, but it has been manufactured by the Democrats, through an aggressive advertising campaign perpetrated by operatives that have been deliberately sent to the Central American region to convince people, particularly, pregnant women and children, to come to America for the promise of a better life, with all the freebies that come with our social welfare programs. These people were deliberately told that there were  loopholes in American immigration laws, and to claim asylum when they arrived at our border. These migrants were also told that women with children would be cared for and given entry into America. The people were then given instructions and routes to follow, as well as some logistics to provide food, water, and shelter along most of the journey.

The sad thing about this is not only  the denial by Democrats to admit the facts, but the cover up of the whole scheme. To deny that there is a crisis at the southern border, and having the complicit media follow suit is nothing less than criminal, and those responsible for this humanitarian crisis should be prosecuted. The media has been reporting about these migrant “caravans” for months now, and not only is this a threat to national security, but the migrants attempting to get here are being sexually assaulted, robbed, plagued with illnesses, and risking their very lives because of the deception perpetrated on them by these Democratic operatives. All  this done to try to gain Democratic majority and control in government to figure out, in their best interest, ways to spend the American taxpayers money.

You can be certain that someone in a think tank operating in the interest of the Democratic party somewhere, thought this mass migration would tear at Americans heart strings and guilt all of us into favoring the Democratic party for compassionate humanitarian reasons.

Let me put this out there: If twenty five strangers showed up at your house demanding not only entry and permanent lodging, but to be fed, clothed, and medically evaluated, and treated if necessary. Would you just open the door? This is the situation at our southern border. Pundits on both sides of the aisle are criticizing the President for considering a declaration of national emergency to address this situation. There are even Republicans that are saying that there is a high political price that President Trump faces for doing so.

The Democrats are already trying desperately to come up with ways to impeach the President. How much higher can the political price get at this point? If the President acts now, I submit that he can fund the project of protecting Americans from this imminent threat through military action, deter the incentive, as well as remove any political leverage that the Democrats are holding over him on this issue. The Army Corps of Engineers can then build the wall, as well as roll out rows of razor wire in areas where it isn’t practical because of adverse natural terrain to construct the wall, barrier, or fence, as some would rather call it.

Idiots and Fools in Congress

Congresswoman Alexandria Cortez has ambitious plans to shift American reliance on fossil fuels in the next decade to green renewable sources. To most of those who embrace these ideas the concept is to tax the pathway to this aspiration. This will only drive those who keep America’s economy going to flee and find better tax climates to do their business. Besides, it is a known fact, that even if everyone was taxed at one hundred percent, it wouldn’t buy enough green energy to do the job.

I would like to know how the Congresswoman plans to make intercontinental commerce possible without fossil fuel, or  rail transport and commerce, or air travel. Are we to go back to steam technology? How about wooden sailing vessels of the sixteenth century? Oh no we can’t do that, because of the deforestation. Without diesel electric transportation devices, or jet engines, practical domestic and world commerce simply isn’t possible. Maybe we could get the “pony express” back up and running for nationwide mail delivery. Even the big commercial machines that plow, plant, and harvest crops that feed America, rely on this technology. Though a lot of the machinery operates unmanned, it still needs to have the ability to run for days on end to accomplish the tasks to manage thousands of acres of farmland.

This woman has no clue of reality. I would like to know what kind of constituency elects a lawmaker without a law degree? This obviously poorly educated Socialist has now compared herself to both Lincoln and Roosevelt as far as what she believes are radical ideas to benefit mankind. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez should first begin with a crash course in economics and public relations, followed by another in both domestic and foreign commerce, and then perhaps a fundamental guide to understanding the basic principles of how the United States Government works. If she can prove the intelligence required to accomplish that, then maybe she could get accepted to a college to try to get a law degree. I would suggest that those who would give any credence to what this woman says to take the time to watch a movie called ” Idiocracy!”

Say Good-Bye to America

The last stop for freedom

The Democratic majority of Congress wouldn’t normally be of much concern in days of old. Now, however, it appears to be more like a case of the inmates taking charge of the asylum. The idea that Jerry Nadler and Maxine Waters would head up two Congressional committees is downright frightening at the least. I wouldn’t let these senile old radicals babysit my grandchildren, or pet sit, never mind have Congressional authority over taxpayer expenditures and rule of national laws to be written that direct how and where those expenditures go. These two lunatics in particular, have already been outspoken about their willingness to subvert the Constitution of the United States to attain personal and ideological gratification, despite any opposition, even in their own constituency.

This brings me to my second point. The seeds of discontent have already been sown to divide  Americans at the very core of our deepest values and beliefs. The Obama Presidency, through complicit social media and public education, has convinced America that rejecting illegal immigration is “un-American”. That Americans can rely on government to provide healthcare, housing, and other services so that no one should do without. Even for those who don’t pay any taxes, are not citizens, or have any allegiance to this country for that matter. To criticism this ideology is now deemed “un- American”.

At the inception of social welfare programs back in the early 1960’s, the concept of support programs for the less fortunate at the time, seemed like the compassionate thing to do. Unfortunately, it was not considered, that to give someone something for nothing, the person would lose the ambition to do anything for oneself. This has led to generational dependency and rampant unchecked fraud. Regardless, the expense required to support these programs is, and has been putting a huge burden on those that are taxed to support them.

In fact, this government of ours has been borrowing, investing, and trying to print its way out of this mess since the inception of the concept and failing miserably. The concept of “budget accounting” is partially to blame. Budget accounting is a fictional process, by which those who do the accounting are not held to account for the expenses. The shortfalls are simply passed on as increases to the next annual expenditure estimate. The federal government has no authority to tax its citizens for  expenses such as Housing and Urban Development, The Department of Education, Environmental Conservation, and a whole host of other “ departments”. The United States Government has one job; to protect its citizens from threats both foreign and domestic, period!

Americans are being fed propaganda from both sides of the political spectrum. Instead of the people governing ourselves, we are now, the governed from the bureaucracy of a two tiered justice, and political system! One side claims fiscal responsibility, while the other claims that more taxation will cover the additional expense of the entitlements. Unfortunately, the metric of what any given individual’s right to claim any given  entitlement is so diminished, at this point, all one has to do is become overweight to receive government assistance or have a “pre-existing condition”.

This brings me to my third point. It’s not about the social welfare, or the responsible execution of these programs, or anything else; it’s about the coffers. It’s about greed, and the possibility of accessing  some portion of the tremendous amount of money that is being generated through the taxation process, being funneled into any given representative’s pocket. The Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches of this government have become pawns of the extremely wealthy, and politically powerful, able to take advantage of those in even the most sensitive positions through human’s most vulnerable flaw;  the raw fundamental survival instinct of greed!

My fourth, and final point is that with all the whispers of things like “single payer” health care, and “open borders”, politicized Department of Justice,” social  and other types of media censorship”, media bias, voting influences, these are all things that essentially destroy the concept of a government ‘by the people for the people”; In other words, say goodbye to the Bill of Rights, and our Constitution! These things we hold so dear are not designed to survive the guilt laden society burdened with the responsibility to be politically correct about all aspects of life.

When those who are in need outnumber those who can support them, government of and by the people is unsustainable. Ergo the Socialist concept is given birth through a Dictatorship government survivable only by forceful  taxation and oppression of the people it governs. Governed by leaders like Pelosi, Nadler, Waters, Schumer,  Clinton, Obama, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Lynch, Holder, Ocasio-Cortez, Sanders, Soros, and hundreds of others like them who, through wealth and propaganda, have enabled them to tear at the fabric of this, the last bastion of freedom and democracy in the world… America.

Taking Back America

Is anyone else completely fed up with the “Shell Game” tactics of our F.B.I. and D.O.J.? These smug and arrogant bastards like Comey and Strzok have a self-righteous and indignant manner worthy of a good beat down! Just seeing the Cheshire smirk on these guys faces pisses me off.

In a way I can understand it. After all, there is no consequence for any of their indiscretions. They swear before Congressional committees that they are upholding the laws of our nation and protecting the American people, yet in order to do so they have to ignore certain ones. Particularly those that apply to them.

I see plenty of non-government people being convicted, like Cohen and Manafort, for lying to the F.B.I. and D.O.J. officials. By their own admissions, Comey, Strzok, Mccabe,  Clapper Lynch, Holder, and Clinton, and a host of others, are all guilty of domestic espionage (foreign espionage in Clinton’s case) lying to Congress, and federal prosecutors, and treason, yet not one arrest or conviction! Better face up to it, folks, there are two standards of criminality in this country. One for those who are supposed to serve us in government, and completely another for the rest of us.

Unless and until true representatives of the American people, and American values, are elected and  they are willing to disinfect the scourge of Socialist ideals plaguing our public institutions, will we then get the (people’s government) back!

A Military Solution to the Caravan

It’s one thing to have people pouring into the United States, it’s completely another to have them enter already needing medical care. Over 60% of the immigrants have some sort of illness.

The solution to this mass influx of needy immigrants is a simple one, because we already have some cooperation with the Mexican government. Rather than accepting these people, at an estimated cost of $1200 per individual for processing, (let alone any medical needs they may have) the solution is to have the U.S. military use a whole fleet of C-130 heavy transport aircraft that could be flown into Tijuana Airport.

From there the immigrants can be loaded in large numbers and before departure, people with illnesses could be given medicine and instructions for the treatment they need, as well as some basic K rations, a vs-quine poncho, thermal blanket, baby wipes, a tote bag, and a few other simple necessities. When the transports land, the geographic location would make it easier for them to find their way back to their country of origin.

Surely this solution would be far less burdensome on the U.S. taxpayer, as there is already been approval for an expanded military budget through Congress.

Another Supreme Court Appointment for Trump?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the eldest of the nine serving justices on The Supreme Court, has taken a fall and fractured some ribs. This could potentially force her to step down, as someone would probably consider at her age.

At age 85 she’s no spring chicken, and would probably have stepped down if Hillary Clinton won in 2016. Ginsburg stated, when Trump was on the campaign trail seeking the office, that she would only step down if another Liberal would replace her. My how the tide has now turned. Could this mean that President Trump may have the opportunity to appoint another conservative to the court?

Now with a comfortable majority in the Senate, all the grandstanding and circus act from the Democrats, would have no bearing on any conservative appointment by the President. Hopefully Ginsburg will step down, and the Progressive Liberal left’s agenda will be put back in the closet a few decades, where it belongs.

Crazy Democrat Conversation

I thought that the crazy Democrats were just on television. Then I actually had a conversation with one. The conversation started innocently enough. I am selling a classic car, and have the car listed on the local sales internet site. The ad reads, “for sale or trade”. A guy calls and asks if I would trade for a vehicle he has. As he describes the vehicle he mentions that he is a Chevy or G.M. guy. I tell him that I am also. He goes on to say he’s a retired auto worker from the Detroit area, and a Vietnam Vet. I thank him for his service,of course, and he talks about different vehicles he’s owned, and some health issues, and that he is 73 years old.

Then he starts talking about how he is in favor of a “single payer” health care system. As a conservative Republican, I naturally respond by telling him that system would only create a rationing of health care, place a burden on those who have to work to support it, and create a government debacle of insurance fraud and waste. I said that I didn’t like the idea of government-run healthcare. I told him I thought that government has a poor track record of managing anything. This apparently struck a nerve. The guy said he’s a staunch Democrat supporter, and began his tirade.

What I found so hard to believe, is that a person at his age could be so ignorant of the facts of things, and believe so strongly in his misgivings. He said he hated President Trump, because he’s in league with Vladimir Putin. Then I responded by saying that at least he seemed to be the better choice, given the allegations about Hillary Clinton’s activities. I went on to say that I thought Trump was doing a good job with the economy. This guy became even more absurd, stating that President Obama was responsible for the great economy, and that Trump was only riding Obama’s coattails, and that Obama saved us from the financial crisis that president Bush created by sending troops into Iraq and Afghanistan.

I tried to explain to the guy that President Obama simply threw tons of taxpayer money at the problem, and doubled the deficit in the process, along with other unnecessary expenditures. The guy really came unglued at the seams, when I told him about how Barney Frank and Chris Dodd introduced legislation, passed in a Democratic controlled Congress, during Bush’s second term, aimed at anti-discrimination, not troop deployment, that was responsible. This forced banks to give mortgage loans without secured funding. Huge numbers of low-income people flocked to the banks to secure loans to buy houses. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac issued billions in unsecured loans, the mortgage-backed securities created from the loans were then traded on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

These financial instruments are commonly traded, and treated just like cash, even better, because they can be leveraged for their intrinsic value over the life of the loans that back them. As huge numbers of delinquencies started pouring in, these leveraged securities became not only worthless, but as leveraged trades at huge multiples of negative or value, their marks when called, were unable to be met financially by the institutions that were trading them. Ergo the financial collapse. First Lehman Bros, Then Bank of America Merrill Lynch, G.M.A.C., Citibank, and so on, like dominoes.

Unfortunately for the guy I was speaking to, he never got to hear the whole truth about the financial crisis, because he became too enraged when I told him about the Dodd Frank legislation, that he hung up the phone.

I feel kind of sorry for the guy going through life believing only what the talking heads on M.S.N.B.C. or C.N.N. tell him and not investigating the real facts about things. Heck, some of these people have just a two-year degree in journalism and little real world experience in anything. I may be conservative, but that doesn’t mean I believe everything on Fox News or the internet. It’s a shame to see a person so entrenched in political belief that they close their mind completely to intelligent dialog.

President Trump’s executive order

President Trump has expressed the idea of halting claims of asylum  by the caravan through executive order. There is also a rumor that he may try to temporarily contest the “birthright” part of the 14th amendment the same way.

House speaker Paul Ryan sharply criticized President Trump for considering this. My advice to our president is to sign as many executive orders, regardless of the criticism, as it takes to thwart the efforts of those wanting to illegally gain entry into this country, regardless of political opposition, even from Republicans, who have also embraced this misnomer  until the proper legislation can be passed to correct the problem.

After all, President Obama enacted “the dream act” or D.A.C.A. through executive order, and it has held up well to criticism, although it has not been legally enacted through the legislative process.
